Physicians from Wyandotte and Johnson County come together in this society to:
• advance physician leadership
• improve patient care
• help colleagues navigate the ever-changing healthcare landscape by raising awareness on the healthcare issues of the day, such as: ICD-10 and value-based care models.
Being a locally-based society means that Wy Jo Med understands and advocates for what physicians need in their own community. The society advocates for patients and has provided access to thousands of uninsured via the Wy Jo Care program.
Members of Wy Jo Med are also proud to be members of the Kansas Medical Society. The Kansas Medical Society advocates for physicians of every specialty, and has a tradition of assuring the practice of medicine remains in physician hands, protecting Kansas’ tort reforms, and protecting the physician/patient relationship from inappropriate third-party influence. Being part of the Kansas Medical Society means that Wy Jo Med has a strong voice in state healthcare issues.
